This is the second edition. The wheel of fortune starts out on a downward spin for a woman named Raggie when she is born to a self-centered mother and an alcoholic, abusive father. Two years into her young life, it seems to take an upturn when Raggie’s mother divorces and remarries. But through several unfortunate circumstances, Raggie finds herself living in the ghettos of Chicago at eighteen, supporting herself and her mother through prostitution after her stepfather is killed while trying to rob a bank.
