Tracy Hayden Hemmingway originally wrote The Magic Flower in 5th grade with the encouragement of her teacher, Mrs. Woulfe. Since then, it has had minor revisions and brought to life with the support and creativity of her husband, Richard Hemmingway and friend, Alex George. Tracy has her B.S. from Ithaca College and Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University. She free-lances in video and live show production. Tracy is currently working on her next children’s book, "I See JuJu, Why Can’t You?" She resides in Illinois with her husband and three children.
Alex George graduated from Columbia College in Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television. He then furthered his studies at the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus on computer animation. He has been freelancing for over twelve years as an animator and art director. Upon reading The Magic Flower, he fell in love with it and jumped at the chance to illustrate it. His most recent project is "The Santa Claus Happy Tyme Show", a short comedy film that he wrote, produced and directed.
