The Fields of Dreams

This story gives you a real insight into what life is like working on the North Sea oil rigs, the highs, the lows, the humour, also the sadness when losing good friends and colleagues through the years. Most people think it's a great job with really big money, but as you all know there is always a price to pay: sometimes the price can be too big, both professionally and personally. This book is about how I believed that I would be able to work and save for my dream, and the reality that it wasn't happening.

John Sutherland was born in Greenock in 1953, came to Glenrothes for work in 1972, had a good number of general labouring jobs before going to work offshore in 1987.
