The author was born in 1924, severely allergic to cow’s milk, nuts and eggs. This greatly influenced his social and professional life. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas with a BSME in 1944 as a mechanical engineer, a profession he followed until his retirement in 1991. He now lives in Lees Summit, Missouri.
