Lloyd Chiasson Jr., a former reporter with daily newspapers in Vermont and Louisiana, is a professor in mass communication at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. A journalism historian specializing in literary journalism and the role of the press in society, he received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, a master’s degree from the University of Arizona and a doctorate from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Chiasson co-authored Reporter’s Notebook, a journalism interactive computer textbook, and served as editor and co-author of The Press in Times of Crisis, The Press on Trial, and Three Centuries of American Media. In 1999, Dr. Chiasson visited Latvia as a Fulbright scholar where he taught at the University of Latvia and Riga Stradina University. Stutterstep is Dr. Chiasson’s first novel.
