Leaving behind the buzzing pulse of Los Angeles, Morgan Shaw pulls into the tiny village of Cur town, California, at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Occupying what would constitute one city block in L.A., she creeps through the torrential rain to her late aunt's cottage. Hoping to vanish temporarily while she unravels the details of her boss' murder, Morgan's intention is to attract as little attention as possible, something which is impossible to do in Cur town. With only a few cryptic clues scribbled on stray sheets of paper that Victor Jay left behind in his desk and the disappearance of his newly written screenplay, the trail to the truth is anything but clear. Little did she know, but Morgan was about to be reeled into a world of diamond smuggling, bloody African civil wars and a group of people whose greed has spawned an air of superiority, even when it comes to murder. Morgan's only hope is that the supernatural forces coursing through Cur town's borders are less dangerous than its human element, that, and to rely on the small town's only handsome, womanizing, self centered bachelor for help. With time running out, can she find the answers she needs to solve Victor Jay's murder and still keep herself alive in a place that makes its own rules?
