North Tonawanda: The Lumber City is a "love story finally told" of the thousands upon thousands of individuals, organizations, and businesses who were woven together into the entity North Tonawandans fondly refer to as "NT."
Donna Zellner Neal is the mother of seven, grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of one. As the founding Director of the three-year-old North Tonawanda History Museum, she has pulled together hundreds of volunteers to labor at creating the new museum and its programming. "Some of the first requests we received from the members of the community," she notes, "were for written material, publications about the city’s history. We have produced a number of smaller publications in our first years but the goal was from the beginning to produce a full-length history of our unique and wonderful city’s heritage. "North Tonawanda: The Lumber City" is the result.
