What exactly is it that attracts Lucy Anne Harrison to Alistaire Dunne, a man somewhat older than herself?

While in the midst of ending her first serious relationship he unexpectedly enters her life. Inconspicuous and unassuming, with a daughter of a not too dissimilar age to herself, somehow he makes a great impression on her, and a relationship ensures.

Unbeknown to her however, Alistaire has already been duped into a world far removed from that of the security of her travel agency desk - a vortex of espionage, murder and political intrigue, which is the everyday life of his brother-in-law, Terry McGlynn.

Manipulative in the extreme, Terry’s actions have already resulted in Alistaire unwittingly being instrumental in the death of a man.

Now, it seems, Terry needs another favour and is intent on drawing Alistaire even deeper into the shady world of the British Intelligence Services, and his personal vendetta to pursue an international terrorist and bring him to justice.
