Narratives of Social Justice Teaching: How English Teachers Negotiate Theory and Practice Between Preservice and Inservice Space

Miller (secondary English education, Indiana U. of Pennsylvania) and 13 co-contributors offer essays detailing how they translated the social justice teachings they learned in university methods classes to classrooms of their own as they embarked on teaching careers. The contributors offer a mix of pre-service and in-service perspectives in their narratives. While they are told as stories, the narratives offer critical and evidence-based evaluations that will be of use to other pre-service and in-service teachers, researchers, English teacher educators, and policy makers.
