Moonlit Tours

Moonlit Tours is the story of three metropolitan cab drivers with diverse backgrounds that pool their resources to create a get-rich-quick scheme of questionable legality. Their enterprise, Moonlit Tours, offers deluxe, safari-like excursions into the city's soft underbelly where decadence, moral oblivion, and depravity are close enough for their jaded, affluent patrons to witness in vivid detail. Despite careful planning, however, the three are unable to insulate their clients from this spectacle of sin. By providing a bridge between cultural poles the na ve trio inadvertently sets a catastrophic equation into motion. Densely populated with quirky characters from all walks of life, rich with dark comedy, and fueled by a crime story reaching out in all directions like a spider web, this social satire is a tale of incremental evil; a thoughtless, lazy fall from grace, and the terrible price of redemption.

Alistair McHarg spent his early years in Edinburgh and Amsterdam, moving to Philadelphia with his father, Ian, and mother, Pauline, at age six. He attended Germantown Friends School, Haverford College, and the University of Louisville. The prestige of an M.A. in Creative Writing enabled McHarg to secure employment with one of Philadelphia’s least reputable cab companies, where he pulled 12 hour shifts 6 days a week for a year. Other forays into dead-end employment have included deckhand on a Norwegian tramp freighter, forest fire fighter in Alaska, and guide at a Canadian wilderness survival camp. Alistair has been arranging words for a living since 1983. He is the author of a memoir of manic depression entitled Invisible Driving, three novels, countless poems, hundreds of reviews, and an ever-growing catalog of ＂El Lagarto＂ cartoons.
