Ellen-Marie Silverman earned her M.A. and a PhD in Speech Pathology from the University of Iowa. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship in developmental psycholinguistics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, she joined the university’s Institute of Communications Research as a research associate and worked in academia for fifteen years, during which time she became a faculty member at Marquette University and The Medical College of Wisconsin. She later trained as a transactional analysis counselor. Dr. Silverman has published extensively in professional journals and has presented at local, state, national, and international meetings. A Fellow of the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association, she returned to full time clinical service in 1985. She founded and operated TSS - The Speech Source, Inc., a multi-faceted staffing service that provides temporary occupational, physical, and speech therapy services.
