A multi-decorated combat rifleman in World War II, Jess Weiss’ research and experiences for his writing career began much earlier than his first written work was published. In May 1994, with the coming of the Fiftieth Anniversary of D-Day he wrote an article for a Washington, DC newspaper: ＂Staff Sgt. Herbert Siegel, Where Are You?＂ This caught the attention of NBC, who not only found Herbert Siegel, but then sent Siegel and Weiss back to Omaha Beach to tape their D-Day experience for the NOW program with Tom Brokaw and Katie Couric, on June 6th, 1994. He is the director and author of the Manhattan murder mystery Psycho/Drama, called ＂the best theater buy in town.＂ He is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild and a board member emeritus of Theater Resources Unlimited. He is a former staff trainer at the National Council of Churches and the American Friends Service Committee, a graduate of the College of Wooster (Ohio) and attended the American University of Beirut.
