Superstar Rod Francis' final performance in London is overshadowed by the murder of the ballet company's wardrobe mistress, whose secret past also threatens his mentor, the artistic director. Despite the danger, Francis leaps into the investigation - feet first. With the help of his network of fans and two young women - a reserved Scotland Yard detective and ebullient American photojournalist - he uncovers the international conspiracy behind the murder. But that leads to a confrontation in Russia and an appointment with death.

Born in Westminster, Robert Jansson studied at London University and UCLA. His first two mysteries, Meet You in Munich and News Caper, were published when he was a professor in England. Recruited by an American corporation, he moved with his family to the US, and at various times managed organizations in the US, UK, Belgium, Japan, Russia and Ukraine. His historical novel Kari’s Saga, set in Viking Iceland, was published in 2008 and Feet First in 2009.
