Pasadena Parade

A very public double murder lifts the lid on a seething web of corruption beneath the placid surface of Pasadena, the legendary sun-drenched city known as the Crown of the Valley, ten miles north-east of downtown Los Angeles. Two old ladies are simultaneously gunned down in broad daylight as they sip red wine and enjoy the annual Doo Dah Parade, the anarchic answer to Pasadena's nationally revered Tournament of Roses Parade. When the Los Angeles Post sends Reg Bradley to cover the murders, he teams up with rival reporter Chrissy Peters to uncover a world that Pasadena's old money preferred to keep out of the public eye. They come up against the city's hidden network of mainly male clubs, where the important decisions have been made behind closed doors, ever since the city's early days. All is not as it seems in the sleepy Crown of the Valley.
