M.K. Bengtson is an entrepreneur turned author, living in Portland Oregon. Her writings run the gamut of humorous to hard hitting drama. She began writing as a way to help her understand the myriad of events that brought her to the point of desperation while suffering from a gender identity crisis. Initially, the writings were in the form of a journal and short stories. In time, it became clear that the material was sufficient for a memoir. However, since there were so many of these from other transgender authors, she decided on creative non-fiction or the fictionalized autobiography. The result was Dorothy’s Boy. She has written other short stories based on current events and societal mores which will appear in future works.
