Chyna Greer was sixteen when her best friend, Zoey, disappeared: one evening Zoey snuck out to the lake to meet her secret crush, and was swallowed up forever into the warm summer night.

Chyna has recently returned to her hometown to bury her mother, and is confronted with memories of Zoey at every turn.
