Correctly interpreting the Bible is no less important than believing it. Using many examples, this book shows important principles for correctly interpreting the Bible with its wide variety of literature. Different genres such as historical narrative, poetry, parable, typology, prophecy, and wisdom literature cannot be treated identically. The right principles are explained and illustrated. Special attention is given to two current major issues. First, the critical Genesis ’six days’ creation account. Misinterpretations like theistic evolution and the recent ’Framework’ theory are well critiqued and shown to be impossible. Then the unique apocryphal literature found in the book of Revelation is considered. Again, popular errors are exposed in a clear and readable way.
