This is the story of an old man, his grandson, and a wolf, and the implacable knot of vengeance that binds them on the mountain, in the distant wilderness of French Canada.

Caught in the inexorable blood feud between the old man and the wolf is the young boy. His two desperate encounters with the wolf, as victim and killer, bring about this realization and mark his moment of knowledge and emergence to manhood.

Dion Henderson is an author and journalist, who worked for the Associated Press in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His novels and short stories have been translated into eleven languages, and On The Mountain was greeted as ’a real gem of a book’ on its American publication.
