Saundra Crum Akers lives in Columbus, Ohio now but attended school in both Peebles and Sinking Spring when she was a child. This is her 9th novel and a sequel to Tempest Rider. All novels except for Fear Treads the Mountain, her first, are set in small towns of south-western Ohio, including Peebles, Waverly, Bainbridge, Washington CH, Circleville, Ripley, and Greenfield. Her current project called Dream Buster is set in Chillicothe.
