Fast-moving action-packed adventure of young Jimmy Maldoon who has been passed from institution to institution and one foster home after another from birth, until landing in the home and heart of elderly Mama Capra. Things really start looking up after a deputy sheriff befriends him. Then his life is turned upside down by his foster mother’s health and the deputy’s fear of commitment. Jimmy finds himself in yet another foster home ran by a wealthy mysterious newcomer to the community, and in serious danger with no one he can trust to turn to.

Kit DeCanti is a Northern California girl, and has been writing mysteries ever since the 1950s, when she and her siblings spent the hot summers inventing mysteries to solve. Kit continued to write, but seriously put pen to paper-- or fingers to key board, as it were-- in the late 1990s when she sat down and wrote her first novel over a three year time period. Kit rewrote it several times- while also writing the first 3 mysteries in The Cobb Mt Mystery Series, finally releasing it, CROSSROADS INN TIME, in 2012 as the fourth in the series. The first, SECRET ON COBB MOUNTAIN, was published in 2009, and before it was in print she had two sequels swimming in her head: RETURN TO COBB MOUNTAIN and KONOCTI CAVES. Although her suspenseful mysteries could stand on their own-- Kit typically wraps an intriguing romance around them. As if a mystery and romance weren’t enough-- Kit DeCanti also takes you on a vivid word tour of the fascinating Lake County, California where she and her husband has lived since 1996. Also by DeCanti: THE ROCK HOUSE which is a children’s book based on the house Kit’s father was born in, and was illustrated by Dan Spears; SECRETS OF A LAZY COOK- or How I Survived Marriage to An Italian When I Hate The Kitchen-- which is filled with great recipes and funny family stories, and illustrated by V. Baarsch. Her cookbook was quickly followed by MY DOIN’ IT Workbook, an aid to assist in staying on ones’ eating plan; accompanied by an audio workout program titled 15-4-6.
