Love Knot

It is 1979, Dublin, Ireland. A young Irish journalist becomes pregnant and flees to London away from claustrophobic Dublin in search of independence and a new life. She finds a home and job in London, but loneliness and a brief encounter, see her heading back to Ireland where she works as a sub-editor on a national newspaper while bringing up her daughter alone. At a time when newsrooms were still woozy with cigarette smoke, and single mothers were whispered about, Sinead O'Neill holds her head high and breaks new barriers.

Sheila O’Kelly lives in Dublin, Ireland, where she grew up. She previously worked as a sub-editor on the Irish Times and now works as a freelance journalist and magazine production editor. This is her first novel.
