Charlotte and the Internet Fairies - Betty, die Backfee (US version)

As a birthday gift from her uncle in Germany, Charlotte receives a membership to a German fairy website. This allows her to select a fairy every month to spend the afternoon with her and explore a particular hobby. The fairy speaks only German and Charlotte (and thus the reader) is introduced to the respective vocabulary field. There is no word-for-word translation provided, instead the book is designed to enable the child to infer all meaning from the context.
In this first volume, Charlotte spends an afternoon baking with Betty, the Baking Fairy. A cake recipe as well as bonus questions and a vocabulary list are provided at the end of the book.

The e-book series "Charlotte and the internet fairies" is designed to offer a playful approach to German for children of primary and early secondary school age. It will encourage self-confidence and an efficient approach to any foreign language due to the children's realization that they can comprehend general meaning without understanding every single word!
