Parade of Horrors

When retired firefighter Andy Klemsen goes out for a dirt bike ride in the woods, the last thing he has on his mind is a dead body, but that's just what he finds. Andy has a collection of pictures in his mind from 25 years as a firefighter/medic that he calls his Parade of Horrors. Finding a young girl tucked away in the bushes without her head has just added another horrible picture to that album. Just when Andy and his long-time riding companion Dennis think this is as bad as it gets, Andy finds out the body belongs to his daughter's best friend. His connection to the victim immediately turns him into a suspect. Andy sets out to find the murderer and clear himself. The evidence points to a remote jungle town deep in central Mexico, to which Andy and Dennis travel by motorcycle. By asking too many questions, Andy finds himself at odds with some very influential locals. He is caught in a vise between a ruthless drug cartel and a corrupt local government. One wrong move could cause him to disappear, or to end his days in jail.

Lance Raber is a retired firefighter/medic with over 25 years of rescue experience. He has traveled the far reaches of South America, spent years wandering the back roads of Mexico, and ridden the mountains of Europe, all on his beloved motorcycles. He’s crossed the Andes in a snowstorm, ridden across the Atacama Desert in Peru, and lived through a tornado in North Carolina. The bucket list will never be empty, but his favorites are in the rear-view mirror. Though he spent his professional career in the Northwest, you can now find him dashing around Arizona in the winter on his dirt bike or his favorite steed, a BMW GS, returning north only when the rains subside. Through years of motorcycle racing and all the hair-raising endeavors that a risk taker embraces, Lance’s muse, his wife Peggy, has patched him up and waved good bye for more than 40 years, always a safe harbor at home
