Caleb A. Mertz, was born in the small town of Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth Pennsylvania, primarily by his mother. Brought up in a Christian household and participating in the church group for boys, Royal Rangers, Mertz has experienced a religious background that would aptly prepare him for such an endeavor as "The Unexpected." Mertz has written other works including "With Thoughts of Jason" (’06), and "The Silhouetted Leaves" (’09). Mertz recently left his job, as Shift Manager at Emeril Lagasse’s "Chop House," to move to San Diego in hopes of finding further inspiration for his next work.
