Called by Name: Twelve Guideline Meditations for Diocesan Priests

A moving series of reflections for Catholic priests to help them grow in their spiritual life as they face the challenges of contemporary society. In addition to Sacred Scripture and selected Church sources, they are based on the writings of Saints John Mary Vianney, Phillip Neri, and Josemaria Escriva. Among other topics special attention is given to the life of prayer, supernatural hope, evangelization, and love for the priesthood.

Father Michael Giesler is a priest of the the Opus Dei Prelature. He obtained an STD from the University of Navarre (Spain), and is the author of a book and several articles on Sacred Scripture, the early Christian Church, and a collection of audio lectures on the writings of Blessed Pope John Paul II. He has recently published a Guidebook (2010) for Catholic priests on hearing confessions, and is a co-founder of the Midwest Theological Forum, which publishes materials for bishops, priests, and laity.
