James R. Nelson is the author of several mystery novels, all of which are set in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula. The first Stephen Moorehouse novel, The Butterfly Conspiracy, is located in the fictional town of Grand View, which was patterned after Grand Marais, Michigan. The Maze At Four Chimneys takes place in Chicago, and the Michigan communities of Garden and Escanaba. James was born and raised in Escanaba. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Western Michigan University, and a Master’s degree from Nova University.
