Jaws of the New York Beaches

In this middle-grade adaptation of Shark Attacks of New York, author Patricia Heyer dives into the history and lore of shark attacks along New York’s coast. Every summer, thousands of people flock to Coney Island, the Rockaway, and all along Long Island’s southern coast for some of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast. But some come face to face with much more.

Patricia Heyer is a local history buff with a special interest in New Jersey area folklore and marine science. She has written extensively for both children and adults during her career. Her most recent title, Jaws of the Jersey Shore, was released in 2024. Pat is an avid reader, beachcomber, and animal rescue supporter. She resides on the Jersey shore with her husband Rob and their rescue cat, Gracie.
