R.L. Bell was Born in Newark New Jersey to a Robert and Janice Bell. Early on in his life being that he was the only child in the household he developed an imagination that he turned into short stories that he read for both parents. It was when he was 10 years old when he found a book of poetry written by Langston Hughes that he started to fall in love with poetry. As he grew up and lived life he decided to chronicle his life experiences (good bad and ugly) with poetry and by 2006 he had written over 1100 poems about various life experiences and things he’s witnessed, it was then when He was told he should write a book of poetry. In 2009 landing his first book deal he set out on constructing a manuscript for the book. with the manuscript done a reviewed the publishers told him that they wanted him to change some of the poetry or they would be unable to publish his work, Robert refused which lead him to part ways with the publishing company in late 2009. from 2010 to 2012 Robert was at work writing and perfecting his manuscript bring him to this very moment of publishing his work.
