John Lawrence Ketchum attended school in his youth, in Dalton, Georgia, as Larry Armond. He was part of a theatrical family using his stage name. During the summer breaks from school traveled in summer stock theaters as an actor, dancer and musician. At age 16 he did comedy and danced in the Bill Bailey’s All Star Minstrels. At age 18 he was the drummer with Shirley and the Dukes. He spent one season with Bisbee Comedians and three seasons dancing and acting with Brooks Stock Company. John became a police officer and undercover agent in the Miami, Florida area for five years. He left his Army Reserve unit for active duty during the Viet Nam crisis. He was awarded the Soldier’s Medal, two Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, five Army Commendation Medals with "V" device for valor and other decorations before retiring as a Army Lieutenant Colonel. He founded Ketchum Investigations Inc, with offices in Seattle, Tacoma and Mount Vernon, Washington. It became the largest polygraph company and the third largest private investigation company in the state. John conducted 6000 polygraphs and performed or supervised 3000 private investigations. Upon retiring, he originated the John Bodie Private Investigative series: Innocent Liar; Laser Liar; Telepathic Liar; Lie to Me; Liar, Liar house on fire; Vengeance in Vallejo and his latest novel, Karaoke Killer. He presently living in Sun City, Arizona and writing his futuristic war novel, 2020.
