El Santo Ermitaño/ the Holy Hermit

Some of my earliest memories were of my Grandparents telling stories about The Santo Ermitano (The Holy Hermit), the miracles he performed and the legend he created. I could only find a few excerpts of his life on this continent. It has been over 150 years since he died. I have spent years since my childhood wondering who he was and where he came from. Most of his story as I see it has been a fantasy to me.The facts of his travels here in the US and the way that he died are documented and based in reality.
