Savannah Belle: A Cricket Kelly Mystery

Twelve year-old Cricket Kelly is back again, but this time, she is headed south to Savannah, Georgia, with Aunt Lila and her best friend, Lucy Marcum, to accept an award for solving her first case, the mystery of The Ragged Suitcase. As soon as Cricket arrives at Devereaux House in Savannah's historic district, she and Lucy meet Tracy, the mayor's daughter, who explains that the city is known for its ghostly hauntings. Cricket isn't sure how she feels about spirits, but it doesn't take long until she witnesses her first ghost. Investigating the possible rumblings of resident ghost, George Devereaux, Cricket encounters more than she bargained for-the theft of a painting by famous Civil War artist, Sallie Habersham. Cricket and her friends soon find themselves on the trail of an art thief who is burglarizing Savannah's grand homes, and Cricket begins to wonder what's so special about those paintings? Furthermore, what does the strange old man, Sawyer Lee, have to do with the case? Join Cricket on her second road trip as she tangles with some rowdy ghosts and investigates a century-old legend of lost Confederate gold.
