Joan Albarella, Professor Emeritus in Writing for the University of Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center is the author of the Niki Barnes Mystery Series: Close To You, Called to Kill, and Agenda for Murder and the stand-alone novel, Sister Amnesia. She is also the author of five plays: Katharine Hepburn’s Brownie;, Killing Mr. Scot;, Mother Cabrini’s Mission to America; Always in My Heart: the Story of Saint Marianne Cope; Light and Dark, the Story of Sister Judith Fenyvesi, SSS. She was the biographer for Sister Judith Fenyvesi, SSS; A Journey of Light in the Darkness, and Sister Karen Klimczak, SSJ; Peaceprints, Sister Karen’s Paths to Nonviolence. Her five books of poetry are: Mirror Me; Poems for the Asking; Women, Flowers, Fantasy (bilingual); Spirit and Joy; and Again For the First Time.
