Janet Holt was born in 1950 and lived in New Mills in the Peak District of Derbyshire until 2010. She worked as a farmer, running her own livestock farm and as a legal executive in a solicitors office. She started writing The Stranger In My Life in 2009 and in 2010 she contacted Helen Parker who helped her to finish it.
