Sarah Patricia Condor-Fisher is an Austrian-American writer, who grew up in Silesia behind the Iron Curtain, midst communist dictatorship, in the dark days of Cold War. In this book, she transforms her experience as a former member of the Olympic Swimming Team, her unsuccessful attempt to cross the border to Austria, subsequent arrest, imprisonment, cross-interrogation by the Secret Police... In 1990, following the "Velvet Revolution," Sarah moved to London, where she studied philosophy at the University College London. In 1995, she moved to Prague to complete her MA in English at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. As an internal Ph.D. student, she pursued her academic career teaching English and American Literature at the Faculty of Education, as well as American History and American Foreign Policy at the Faculty of Political Sciences. In 1997-8, she represented the Czech Republic at the European Commission in Brussels. Upon the completion of her Ph.D. studies in Prague, she moved to California, where she began to study law. She successfully passed the California Bar Examination on her first attempt in 2010. Today, Dr. Sarah Patricia Condor-Fisher, LL.M. practices corporate, transactional, and employment law in Los Angeles, in her own firm CondorLaw.
