After living most of her adult life in Louisiana, Elle Knowles now resides in the Florida Panhandle, a.k.a. The Sunshine State, with her husband, Harry. There are four grown daughters, one son, and eleven beautiful grandchildren in their lives. In 1959, at the age of four, Elle homesteaded in the Alaska wilderness for five years with her parents and four siblings. From this adventure came the inspiration for her latest nonfiction book, Coffee-Drunk or Blind. This story is based on her own memories, and her mother’s journals and letters written at that time to family members in Louisiana. Her first fiction novel, Crossing The Line, was published in 2013. Currently, she is working on another fiction novel. Her passion for reading historical fiction gives her inspiration to someday publish in the historical fiction genre. When Elle takes a seldom break from her writing, she is usually creating at her sewing machine - her first love - or working on one of the never-ending DIY projects with her husband restoring and remodeling their 1956 small home. As an avid reader and writer, you can find Elle posting frequently on her blog Finding Myself Through Writing at knowleselle@wordpress.com.
