Jo Ann Tracey Schehr Fashina was born August 21 1953 in Brooklyn NY. She graduated from Boston University with a BA in Theater Arts in 1978. She later attended U MASS Boston to gain credits towards teacher’s certification in Secondary English. She has been a teacher for over thirty years and has taught a variety of subjects such as dance, drama, English and reading. In 2009 she retired from the Boston Public Schools System and in 2010 she published her first book My God My Song My Praise which is a collection of inspirational poems and lyrics. Her second publication was the book Reality in the Spiritual Realm another collection of inspirational poetry and her most recent publication is Expressions of Definitions Redefined which is the first book in a series of daily devotions. Mrs. Fashina is married to Oluseyi Clement Fashina from Lagos Nigeria and has one daughter and two grandchildren. She is a senior missionary, and Women’s Council member, a youth ministry worker, Sunday school teacher, and choir member of the Mission Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of The Apostolic Faith Inc. in Somerville MA, pastor Apostle Bishop Henry Alexander Moultrie II. JoAnn Schehr Fashina is the recipient of the 1988 Poetic Achievement Award from the American Poetry Association, 2005 Missionary Auxiliary Certificate of Appreciation from the Mission Church of the Apostolic Faith, 2006 National Honor Roll’s Outstanding American Teacher’s Award and the 2007 Appreciation Award for Longevity & Service also from the Mission Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
