She was married to the late Henry Lee Collier for nearly four decades; she is the mother of six, a retired healthcare professional, and the former spokesperson and founder of Citizens Against the Rebel Flag Hanging in Public Places. This organization copyrighted the first rebel flag protest t-shirt in U.S. history, and produced a historical U.S. 1860-1861 Map, which is a placemat and a learning resource for people of all ages. Meredith Coleman McGee is the co-author of "Married to Sin" and the Spanish translation of the memoir: "Casada al Pacado." She is the author of "Nashida: Visits the Smith Robertson Museum," "Nashida: Visits the Mississippi State Capitol," "Odyssey," a collection of her poems and other writings, and the author of a biography "James Meredith: Warrior and the America that created him" about her uncle Civil Rights icon James H. Meredith. She was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She is the wife of William E.
