While studying at university, Hide’s short fiction was collected in Broke: A Literary Anthology, published by a UCLA collective and with a foreword by Bret Easton Ellis; he also authored a one-act play, Strangers (2002), which ran in Greenwich Village, NYC, near the White Horse Tavern.
