The Legend of Dead Lake

This coming-of-age ghost story blends fact and fiction to create a roller coaster tale, taking you from the 1800's through the 1960's. With dozens of photographs, a nautical chart, and missing and torn pages, this book will sometimes read like a treasure map leading to the two sunken ships and the mystery that surrounds them. In the rural South, a teenage boy is pitted between his strict grandparents, and the swamps and alligators that surround him. While there, he uncovers a manuscript that leads him to the discovery of two ships with a history of slavery and murder sunken side by side. By the summer's end he has conquered his own fears as he learns his own family secrets.
