Like a Lion He Prowls

Pursued by a Father whose love knows no bounds.

Hounded by an adversary bent on our eternal destruction.

Sounds like the stuff of fairy tales. But what if it’s not? What if there really is a Father who loves us more than we could ever imagine, and an adversary who would stop at nothing in his quest to destroy his opponent?

The truth is, we are a people at war. Not against flesh and blood as the Apostle Paul notes, but against the evil one himself. Against the one who would do anything in his power to wound the heart of our Father. Yet so often we live as if that was not so.

Like a Lion He Prowls examines the war in which we unwittingly enlisted the day we took it upon ourselves to disobey the One who loves us and made us for Himself. Its purpose is to make us aware of some of the weapons the evil one levels against us in our everyday lives and help us prepare a plan of resistance.

Life in the war zone is difficult and full of dangers we often fail to anticipate, but we need not despair. We have not been left defenceless, for Jesus is with us—our Saviour, our Lord—and the war has already been won.
