Universal Donor refers to type O negative blood. O negative red blood cells may be given to anyone, regardless of the recipient’s blood type - especially if the situation is life-threatening or the matching blood type is in short supply. Mary Ellen Springsteen is a U.S. citizen, born in Pennsylvania and of Irish heritage. She has worked most of her professional career in Quality Assurance, Research and Development and Compliance divisions of numerous pharmaceutical and clinical research companies. Her roles have included medical diagnostic testing, validations, auditing, technical writing and clinical trial monitoring. She has completed courses in creative writing, technical writing and writing for children. This is the author’s first published book. She currently resides in New Jersey and is working on her next novel.
