About th e Author The author is a graduate and a postgraduate in history from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi university. Ancient Wing is his first effort in the art of writing. Presently there are two new works forthcoming, a translation of Lakshminath Bezbarua’s Burhi Aier Sadhu, Old Mother wise Tales and a work of non-fiction titled A letter to Sunshine (Earth in a nutshell). The latter is about a little boy, from a remote town, who sheeds kowledge about th eworld he lives in. Since no adult has the itme to tell him the story of the world he writes a letter. A letter to Sunshine who has been witnessing the progress of the earth since the beginnning of creation. Teh letter is allowed to drift with the wind. Sunshine receives and not only replies bu picks up th elittel boy Bapu on a monday morning. Sunshine and Bapu then select an imaginary island in the pacific Ocean. There they both sit and begin the conversation. The story of earth beings with Austratia on Monday, America and Antartica on Tuesday, Afreica on Wednesday, Europe on Thursday, and Asia on Friday. On Saturday the topic of descussion is on medicine, as human beings are totally dependent on th ethree natural kingdoms: vegtable, mineral and animal. On Sunday, music, that sublime art, is dwelled upon. The primary theme of the book is on preservatonof nature. Since the habit of reading thers days has taken a rear seat thauthor has made an attempt at putting forth facts and figures hhsitory, greography and culture ina nutshell interstingly to make the exercise of reading enjoyable. The author feels it will be useful birth day gift. The author after his college education in 1973 joined as a partner in Lawyer’s Book Stall, one of the oldest bookselling and publishing institution of Assam until 1983 when a quirk of fate compelled him to seek a new pasture: Homeopathy. Currently he is engaged in his practice at Ambari, GNG, Guwahati, Assam.
