ABOUT THE AUTHOR Michael Elias is a transplanted, suburban Southern Californian in his 40s who loves to write and use language in creative new ways. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology and a Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, which have served him well in professional scientific research throughout the years and in the co-writing and editing of numerous published scientific papers. Refocusing on a career in compositional writing, he has used his athleticism, his healthy, fit lifestyle, his education, and his disability to accurately portray the protagonist in his new novel, The Gift of Life, from a first-hand perspective. He lives in suburban Los Angeles with his pet black Labrador Retriever, Carter.
