C. L. Neely spent over thirty years in the Sierra Nevada mountain range and when deciding on a location for this story the idea of a small town, located in those beautiful mountains, with under 5,000 population seemed ideal. Neely has been the owner of three book stores, is retired and now lives in John Day, Oregon. This is her fourth published book, and her first mystery. Other works include one historical novel, "Behind Every Hero"; One small book on history, "Graeagle - The History of Mohawk Valley"; and "The Lost Sheep", a child’s book, with illustrations by the author.
