Peter Walter B.Sc., MCIM Over a period of twenty five years in the textile industry, Peter has worked for some of the largest textile companies in the United Kingdom. He has first hand experience of most textile processes from the spinning and processing of synthetic fibres to the production of woven and pile fabrics. Of all the manufacturing techniques he worked on, the production of felt made the greatest impression on him, so much so that his subsequent researches led to the creation of this book. He was the technical manager for Bury and Masco Industries Limited, the largest felt manufacturer in Britain and when this company merged with two other feltmakers to form Bury Cooper Whitehead Limited he became the marketing manager. From here he joined Bonar Textiles Limited as Marketing Director promoting polypropylene into new end uses. Peter later opted to help other businesses and became a business consultant working for Scottish Enterprise, the United Kingdom’s Government’s economic development organisation for Scotland. After twelve years of advising on business strategy Peter retired and now lives in Cambridgeshire with his wife Liz.
