Shadow Tag

Shadow Tag, the second book in the Ray Schiller Series, has Ray picking up where he left off in Dear Crossing, his debut appearance. The grisly murder of a prominent woman in her summer home led him him on an investigation where many were suspect and few were innocent. Now he's back. Paul Davis, a top ACC executive, is found dead in the boardroom of the Minneapolis-based company. The Board of Directors claims it was suicide. And why not? He was discovered with a pearl-handled revolver in his hand and a bullet wound to his head. Detective Ray Schiller and his partner Dick Waverly, however, are far from convinced. Why would Davis kill himself less than twenty-four hours after finally taking over his late father-in-law's company? The Board and Davis's successor are quick to provide answers, but their actions suggest they're hiding something. And they aren't the only ones keeping secrets--not by a long shot. Complications infiltrate the investigation as well as Ray's personal life, and what originally seemed to be a relatively straightforward case that puts his and Waverly's lives in serious jeopardy.

Marjorie Swift Doering grew up, quite literally, on a golf course. Her father, a PGA pro, was the owner-operator of an eighteen-hole course in a tiny town in SE Wisconsin. The distinctly unique childhood surroundings laid the foundation for her lifelong enjoyment of ＂people watching＂. Occasional reminders to ＂not bother the members＂ resulted in turning her into an introverted extrovert, a condition she’s since overcome. She graduated from WSU, Stevens Point with a B.S. in Secondary Education with a major in English and a minor in Psychology. She’s made continuous use of both ever since, but interests and circumstances led her away from the classroom setting. The love of writing has always been a constant in her life. A few of her proudest accomplishments consist of the production of her one-act play Flight 419 by Darknight Theatrical Productions in Chicago, Illinois in 2005, contributions to Mosaic, A Collection of Short Stories in 2009, the 2012 publication of Dear Crossing, the first in her Ray Schiller mystery series, followed by Shadow Tag, the second book in the series in 2013. Marjorie and her husband Denny live in NW Wisconsin with their springer spaniel Casey and their three crazy but loveable cats, Freddy, Dickens and JoJo.
