Like Father, Like Son

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON is the story of one man's search for a lost love and another man's search for his soul. Set in the Midwest and California during the 1960s, the story centers around a profound love between two Country singers. He's alive, she's not. Dusty Rhodes has it all: money, fame, a woman he loves with his heart and soul. When Jeannie Owens suddenly marries someone else to further her career, life ceases to exist for Dusty. When Jeannie dies in a car crash, Dusty's upside-down mind takes a trip out of this world. He's plagued with psychic dreams he doesn't understand. A mystic minister provides some crazy answers. Even crazier is when those answers begin to make sense. Besides being a love story, LIKE FATHER LIKE SON is also a story of spiritual growth. It leaves the reader with the idea that the purpose of life is to grow, to learn, that death is simply a transition from one plane of consciousness to another.

An independent scholar in metaphysics for 30 years, mm pesola has also been a fiction editor and a screenwriter. Her first screenplay, THE SINGING TREE, was one of four First-Place winners in the Moondance International Film Festival in 2013. She has since written four other screenplays and will soon begin writing a fifth.
