Ice Phoenix

From across the distant stars and galaxies they watched Terrana, baffled at how a young, uncivilised girl from Sector Thirteen could possess the power to traverse back and forth through Space and into their worlds. Unaware she is being observed, Terrana goes about her quiet life on a remote tropical island without a care in the world. Her most demanding task is to lob coconuts from treetops, and her only enemy is her annoying brother. This idyllic life changes forever when she is wrenched from her home and transported to Sector One, an area in Space teeming with powerful beings and mind-blowing technology. Terrana slowly comes to terms with her new existence until she learns the sector is being threatened by a long forgotten alien race. Then she is thrown into epic manga-esque battles and is forced to face some truths about herself.

Sulin Young was born on the main island of Fiji, Viti Levu. Aside from reading, a favourite past time, she spent most of her time legging it to the beach, swimming, and exploring some of the many outer islands. She was an imaginative child who enjoyed writing and making up fantasy worlds. When she was twelve, she was told to write an original fairy story. Her teacher graded this piece of creative writing with a zero, because she didn’t believe that Sulin had actually written it herself. After challenging the teacher to find a story similar to what she had written, the teacher finally acquiesced and gave her an A+. Sulin graduated from university with a BA in Computing Science and Information Systems and began travelling the world. In 2000, she travelled to England for work, moving onto Ireland before returning to her beloved Fiji in 2008. She was struck by the travel bug once more and moved to the Czech Republic, where she is currently living. During her time in England, she indulged her passion for writing by creating manga-influenced science fiction stories for her own pleasure.
