Secrets in Small Towns

The ball starts rolling when Sue-Ann McKeown, editor of The Pine Oak Courier, finds a zonked-out teenager in her woods. When it turns out that he has escaped from a juvenile detention center long rumored to abuse its charges, Sue-Ann senses that she’s on a new case. But the kid goes missing, and Sue-Ann has to find him--especially given that Sgt. Joe Bickley of the local sheriff’s office is threatening to ＂out＂ Sue-Ann and her girlfriend unless she produces the boy. Then a Courier reporter who is investigating the juvenile center is nearly killed, and Sue-Ann realizes she has a lot more to worry about than putting out a newspaper.This is the third and most exciting novel in the Small Town Series.

Golden Crown Finalist Iza Moreau was born and raised in New Mexico, where she was introduced to Arabian horses and to the art of riding them. After a stint in journalism school, she roamed the country for a couple of years before settling down in one of the Southern states, where she has a small farm with a couple of horses. She counts Sarah Waters, Maggie Estep, and the Bronte sisters-Acton, Currer, and Ellis-among her literary influences. Secrets in Small Towns is the third in the series of Small Town novels featuring Sue-Ann McKeown and her friends in Pine Oak, Florida. The first novel in the series, The News in Small Towns, was a top-5 finalist in the 2013 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in both Mystery and Regional Fiction. It and its popular sequel, Madness in Small Towns, are available in print and as e-books. Although Secrets in Small Towns completes the three-novel sequence, there is a series of Small Town short stories featuring the same characters entitled Mysteries in Small Towns.
