Genevieve "Vee" Reld is a modern daughter of the old South. Shannon Barnes is happily married to the love of her life and is happiest when their blended family is all together (they share five children). She teaches high school in rural West Tennessee and claims her true story rivals any fiction she’s encountered. Shannon has her Master’s in Literacy and works in education. She also has a brother with special needs and modeled the character James in Cotton’s Daughter after him. Although she focuses like a laser beam on small town Southern idiosyncrasies in her writing, she wouldn’t trade her Southern upbringing for anything.
